How To Remove Unneeded Positions

Overview

Some downloads send a position every day, while others, such as DST Fan Mail may send positions only once per month.  When a position does not produce a reconcile transaction, you may not want to keep them on the View Investment With Downloaded Positions Screen.

Remove unneeded positions at least once a quarter if you are downloading from clearing firms such as Pershing or First Clearing.  The next time database maintenance is performed, your files will compact and become more efficient.
