Can I Store Investment Data In Insurance Fields?
We've had users store mutual fund data in the insurance module. This involves using fields for other than their intended purpose.
Though it's fine to store the insurance contract data of an annuity or variable life policy in the insurance module (it's intended for this,) storing the investment data (the funding assets) in an insurance record is a very bad practice for the following reasons:
• | As the insurance module is enhanced, we assume that insurance data is stored there. We also assume that fields are being used as intended. It is possible that we could do an enhancement that will negate your scheme. |
• | We provide NO support for storing investments in the insurance area of the program. |
• | We will charge our hourly rate of about $100 per hour if we are asked to move the investment data into the investment module at some future date. This will negate any money you may have saved by putting the investments in insurance fields. |
