When a commission due is not fully paid, Advisors Assistant will carry an amount still outstanding, called a remainder.  The remainder is linked to the transaction that has been posted and will stay in the commission system as due.

Remainders are created when a different amount is posted and the amount is less than what is actually due the agency.
