A single user system is designed to be run on one computer. The database and the program both reside on the same computer. A single user system may not be installed on two different computers in such a way that it is possible to run both at the same time.
For example, it is a violation of our License Agreement to install Advisors Assistant on two computers in the same office.
It is not a violation of our license agreement to install a single user version of Advisors Assistant on a home computer and an office computer and use it in such a way that you would backup the office data and restore it on the home computer for use at night or on weekends. (In this case, you cannot be at the office and at home at the same time.) However, there is an extra charge because our pricing model does not include the tech support for additional installations of SQL Server, there is an additional charge for this type of setup.
As an alternative, we recommend our hosted system, where the database is on our servers in a secure data center. In this setup, you can run from any location where your workstation or laptop has access to the Internet.
