Advisors Assistant calculates Cost Basis so that unrealized gains can be shown.  It does not calculate Tax Basis.  Tax Basis may or may not be the same as Cost Basis based on the type of account being calculated.  For example:  Cost basis may include reinvested dividends, but tax basis may not.
