You can update prices in these ways:

•Downloads - Your download from DST, Pershing, NFS, etc. will contain prices so you don't need to enter them or otherwise download them.

•Manually - You enter the prices yourself one at a time for a particular security and they are applied to all securities of that symbol.

•Sungard - This is an optional service which provides closing prices, and historical prices and indexes.  You can retrieve hundreds of prices with just a few clicks.

Certain prices are fixed at $1 per share, such as cash accounts and money markets (for all practical purposes.) If you fill in the Fixed value, Advisors Assistant will always show the price as current at $1 per share.

Use N/A to just ignore pricing for the asset.
