From the Commissions Sidebar Menu, click on Rates, add or modify a rate table and click on the Advances Tab.

Advances Overview

You can reflect that commissions based on premiums or fixed amounts are advanced to the agency and you can have the agency advance commissions based on premiums or fixed amounts to other levels.  At this time, you cannot advance commissions based on participants..

Commission advances are generated as one transaction.  So if you advance 3 months, you will get one transaction for the three months, but there will be a comment in that transaction indicating that it is a 3 month advance.

Commission Levels

Highlight the commission level for which you wish to generate advance commissions.

 

 

Advance on Commissions from Premium

Choose one of the options. available to advance commissions which are based on Premiums.

No Advance

This is the usual default.

Advance Months

This option lets you advance any number of months to the level highlighted.

Advance Through End of Calendar Year

This option is designed to accommodate some of the new health insurance options where, no matter when the policy is written, the second and subsequent years begin on January 1 of each year.

Advance until Renewal Begin Date

This option ties into the Renewal Begin Date which can be edited on the Add / Modify Policy Commissions Screen.

Advance on Fixed Amounts

Choose one of the options. available to advance commissions based on a fixed amount.

No Advance

This is the usual default.

Advances When Other Commission Levels Are Based On Agency Commissions

When an agent is being paid a percentage of Agency Commissions, you cannot advance commissions.  However, if the agency is advanced, the commissions will flow through to the agent since they are being paid a percentage of what the agency is paid.

When a producer or manager is being paid a percentage of Agency Commissions, any advance options set at the Agency Level will flow through to the other levels that are paid based on Agency Commissions.
