Copy Flex Field Labels

Click On the Admin Menu at the top of the screen. Select Maintain Flex Fields. Then click on the Copy Button
Overview
This is an Administrator function.
When FlexFields are related, it saves time to copy one set of fields to another and then just make a change or two if needed. This helps maintain consistency.
Click copy to execute the copy function
The copy function is a From / To function. The "To" end does not need to have a FlexField set attached. The copy function will create a new set of FlexFields or overwrite an existing set.
Type
The type refers to the kind of record the flex fields to which the FlexField is attached. The types are:
•Name
•Policy
•Investment
You cannot copy workflow FlexFields.
Description
This field represents the description of the type chosen. For example, if you choose "Name" then the Description is the Type of Name. That may be "Client".
Show Labels Buttons
If you click the Show Labels in the From Section, these will be the labels that are being copied.
If there are labels in the To Section, you can show them. They will be Overwritten.
From / To Sections
You are copying the labels in the From Area to the FlexFields defined in the To Area.

it may not be a good idea to overwrite labels in the To Section if you have already entered data. The data will then be mismatched. The data is not changed just because you change the labels. |
