How To Use MoneyGuidePro's Web Site

MoneyGuidePro should have a video on their web site soon after the integration is released.  This is a good starting point.  Once the data is passed to MoneyGuidePro, you are within their product environment and support for any issues not related to the data pssed must come from MoneyGuidePro..

What you should know about the data passed to MoneyGuidePro

Here is information about what data is passed and how Advisors Assistant makes its decisions about passing data.

If you don't have the Insurance or Investment modules, the data from that module will not be passed.  Contact data will always be passed.

Not all data in Advisors Assistant is supported by MoneyGuidePro.  We are passing all the relevant data in their system.

Not all data is updated each time you access MoneyGuidePro from Advisors Assistant.  We always pass the latest data, but MoneyGuidePro decides what data it will update.  This is based on their years of experience with their product.

Investment data is passed based on the INVESTOR.  There is only one Investor for each account.

If there is a household and the client is the Head of Household and the spouse is in the household, spouse data will be passed and they are tracked, not by the Client ID, but by a Household ID. If there is no household formed, the spouse data will not be passed.  If that client later becomes a Head of Household, Advisors Assistant will send the Client's ID not the Household ID and the spouse's data will not be automatically connected. When working with a Household, set up the Household in Advisors Assistant before sending data to MoneyGuidePro.

Insurance data is passed based on the OWNER of the policy.  There is only one Owner for each policy.  If the spouse is not the owner, and there is insurance on the client owned by a third party which benefits the estate, such as an irrevocable trust, then you may need to enter the policy manually.

Spouse insurance information will be passed to MGP if there is a spouse listed in the name record, or a link to a spouse.  (See the information below on how the spouse is established.).

Variable Annuities stored in the Insurance Module are NOT passed.  MGP supports VA's as investments.  If you have the sub accounts in the Investment Module, that data will be sent.

Cost basis for Investments and Cash Values for Insurance are passed to MGP.

The data is passed based on the client being viewed.  If that client is the Investor, then the account data will be passed.  If that client is the owner of the policy, then the insurance data for that policy will be passed to MoneyGuidePro.  If you disagree with this, please contact Client Marketing Systems.

If the policy or account owner is the insured or spouse, that information is passed.  If it is someone else, you may need to edit that information on the web site.  It will not be updated by Advisors Assistant on the next export, so once edited, it will stay that way.  You should set up a Household in Advisors Assistant so the spouse will be passed.

Accounts, policies, and clients are all identified by MoneyGuidePro based on special keys passed.  It does not use the actual data, such as names, etc.  So if you change a name in Advisors Assistant, it will still link up with the same records in MoneyGuidePro.

If you move investments from one account to another, they MAY then appear twice in MoneyGuidePro until you delete them from the old account in MoneyGuidePro because that account key information is based on the account and investment.

CUSIPs and Ticker Symbols are passed to assist in the categories of the assets.  You should be sure these are accurate.

Only the Client's Spouse is supported by MoneyGuidePro.  Other household members are not sent because they are not part of the MoneyGuidePro data specification.  For the Spouse to be sent, they must be linked to the client as a spouse.  You can do this from the Update Name Screen for the client.

Ownership other than Client or Spouse is not used by the MoneyGuidePro integration.  Irrevocable Trust Ownership is not supported.

Once your System Administrator sets you up for MoneyGuidePro, just follow these steps:

Step 1: Navigate To Client's View Screen In Advisors Assistant

If the client is a member of a household, you should navigate to the Head of Households View Screen.

When Advisors Assistant sends data to MoneyGuidePro, it sends the data associated with the currently viewed client. See the section below about establishing the spouse's name.

Step 2: Click on Partner Exports on the Advisors Assistant Side Bar Menu

If you are not already on the Partner Export section of the Side Bar Menu, it will be at the bottom of the menu.

Step 3: Click on the MoneyGuidePro Icon

MoneyGuideProIcon

Advisors Assistant will then contact the MoneyGuidePro web site, log you in, and pass the data for the person being viewed.

How The Spouse's Name Is Established

When you click on the MoneyGuidePro icon, Advisors Assistant establishes your client's spouse, if any, based on the following logic:

If the name being viewed is a member of a household and is not the head of household, but is the spouse in the household, Advisors Assistant will automatically assume that the Head of Household is the "main" client.  Behind the scenes, the system moves to the Head of Household record just as if you were viewing it when you clicked on the MoneyGuidePro Icon.

1.The "Spouse" designated on the client's record at the bottom of the Modify Name Screen will automatically become the spouse.  (This is true even if the spouse in the name record were somehow different from the spouse in the on the client screen.)

2.If there is no spouse designated on the Modify Name Screen, Advisors Assistant will look for a spouse link in the View Client With Links Screen.  If a spouse's name is find there, it will be used.  If more than one name is linked as a spouse, Advisors Assistant will select the first spouse that was linked.

3.The household is used to find the Head of Household, but it is not used to find the spouse's name.  You should make sure the spouse is designated in the client's record..

If the name being viewed is not a member of a household, Advisors Assistant looks at numbers 1 and 2 above.  If it does not find a spouse, no spouse is used.

MoneyGuidePro And FinaMetrica

FinaMetrica is a risk profiling application that is integrated with MoneyGuidePro.  Once you set up your client with Advisors Assistant in MoneyGuidePro, you can give your client access to all or part of his information and your client can fill in the risk tolerance questionnaire.

This is part of the MoneyGuidePro application, so support questions should be directed to MGP.
