Overview
Commission Security has two levels. First, access to the Commission Module itself. Second, the authorization of tasks that a user can perform within the commission module.
Commission Module Security
The first level of security is providing Access to the optional Commission Module. If a person doesn't have access to the module, they will not even see the Commission Tab at the bottom of the View Policy With Commissions Screen or the Commission Tab on the Modify Policy and Modify Coverage Screens.
Authorizing Commission Module Access
Under Optional Modules, just check the Commission Module. This will give those in the "User Role" access to the Commission Module.
You may also want to set up a separate role called "Commission Users" to keep those with commission access in a separate class of user.
Commission Task Security
Once a person has access to the Commission Module, you can authorize them to do different tasks.
Commission Task Security
You can use the check boxes to provide task security for:
•Adding or Modifying Commission Transactions from the View Policy With Commission Screen.
•Deleting Commission Transactions
•Maintenance of Commission Rate Tables (Adding, Modifying, or Deleting)
•Calculating Commission Transactions
•Posting Commission Transactions as paid.
•Running Commission Reports
Because commission affect several producers, in order to perform any of the following commission tasks, the person performing the task must have access to all names in the database. You cannot restrict access to the agency personnel who are doing the following:
•Creating Rate Tables
•Calculating Commissions
•Posting Commissions
•Creating and Maintaining Commission Adjustments
•Running Commission Reports
Basically, access to all producers' policies and clients is required for any operation from the Commission Sidebar Menu.
