TD Veo Positions Download

Veo® Download Overview   TDA_VeoLogoHorrizontal

The Veo Download is designed for those advisors who do not desire to calculate rate of return within Advisors Assistant, but still want to provide investment snapshot reports to their clients.

TD Ameritrade Veo provides the ability to retrieve and update your Advisors Assistant database with the following information:

Registrations (you can start with an empty Advisors Assistant and bring in client names and addresses.

Accounts (If an account is not in Advisors Assistant, it will automatically be set up.)

Securities (A security record is established if the CUSIP or Symbol does not exist in Advisors Assistant)

Prices (Daily price files are updated.)

Asset Positions (The number of shares for each asset at yesterday's close.)

Differences From The Transaction Download

There are several differences between the TD File download, that includes transactions, and the Veo Position download.

The Veo download is easier and faster because the data is retrieved using a Web Service.  There are fewer steps in the process.

Since you are not actually getting files (you get a data stream), there is no storing of files.

The Veo download does not include transactions.  Tracking transactions is where most of the download work takes place.

Since there are no transactions, Advisors Assistant will not calculate rates of return which require the cash flows provided by transactions.

Cost basis is not calculated in Advisors Assistant since there are no transactions. Cost basis would be provided by the TDA reports.

Most of the investment reports and charts are available in the Advisors Assistant Selection Reportsbecause they are reporting shares, prices, and market values.  This is exactly what the Veo Download provides.
